Jet City Auxiliary is a supporters group for the Seattle Sounders Women in the W League. We believe in passionately supporting the team during home and away matches.
Jet City Auxiliary, or JCA, was created in 2012. We are an open group consisting of people from all backgrounds, families, men, women, and even children. We encourage you to join us in supporting the Seattle Sounders Women in however you see fit, whether that is singing, clapping, waving flags, and holding up two poles alongside us, or by simply cheering on the team during matches from your seat.

MEMORIAL JUGGLE-OFF CONTINUES. Tragedy hit the Sounders Faithful last week. Long-time Sounders supporter Richard Swanson was hit by a car and passed away along the 101 in Oregon. Richard, known in the Sounders Community for taking random long walks, was just two weeks into an epic walk. He was walking to Brazil, from Seattle ...all the while kicking a One World Futbol. To honor his life and journey that were so abruptly cut short last week, donate a One World Futbol in his memory here: www.oneworldfutbol.com. Don’t have the funds to donate a ball? No matter! Take part in the 2013 JCA One World Futbol Juggle-Off in his honor. Find the blue ball in the JCA End pre-game & #getyourjuggleon. We will continue to honor him in this way all season long. We will also be shipping the ball & a camera south with the Sounders Women during their upcoming five-game Southern California & Rocky Mountain road trips.
Requiescat in pace, Amicus.
BLUE HAIR? Speaking of videos, here is the explanation for Sara Campbell’s Blue Hair: Sara's Hair.
CALI AWAY: Is anyone able to make the 3-game trip to SoCal next week? If so, share your plans on Facebook or in the Forums & we’ll hook you up with the SoCal Sound for some awesome away support for our girls! So far, only Sounder Duck has committed to the road trip.
COLORADO AWAY: Our annual Colorado Away trip is but two weeks away. Flights are currently hovering between $250 & $300. Right now, it looks like we'll have 3 or 4 make the epic trip to the Rockies. Both Sara Campbell & Niki Bonnell, who have each done battle several times in Mile-High City, have requested our presence, "Late in the match, especially in the second game, the altitude starts to bite at you, some friendly song & color are a real pick-me-up and have more impact than you can imagine. We hope to see & hear you in Denver!" You heard the girls! TWO GAMES IN THREE DAYS! EPIC SUPPORT NEEDED! Super Fun trip, GET ON IT!

W-LEAGUE WESTERN CONFERENCE PREVIEW: Check out the SoundersMom Blog for a great Preseason Western-Conference Preview written by SoundersMom: W-League Western Conference Preview.
WESTERN CONFERENCE TABLE:
SEATTLE SOUNDERS WOMEN
Colorado Rapids Women
Bay Area Breeze
Santa Clarita Blue Heat
RUSH DROP DERBY: Colorado Rapids 3:2 Colorado Rush. Though the Rush opened and closed the scoring of their season opener at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park and they had more creative possession and movement with the ball, the Rapids shut the door on them, time & time again.
THE WALMART OF SOCCER: The Colorado Rush organization is MASSIVE: it began, modestly, in 1997 as a merger between the two suburban Denver clubs of Columbine & Lakewood, but has since grown to cover something like 27 states and THREE CONTINENTS (North America, Asia, Africa, & they are currently looking to add clubs in South America). There is even a Washington Rush franchise in the northern suburbs of Seattle.
THEIR COACH: Rush Skipper Erik Bushey is a Washington native who has bought into the Rush Soccer Mantra. He will dance to the corporate 4-4-2 tune and attempt to hold ship & counter attack, a twice failed approach last season. Expect an exciting game with a lot of chances.
PLAYER TO WATCH: Though the Rush have a quarter of this year’s Big-XII Champion Baylor team, 18 year old University of Portland commit, Danica Evans (@danica_lynn2) is a pure finisher and the one we need to keep an eye on. In the season opener, Danica continued her typical W-League onslaught with a brace against the Rapids; she converted a PK in the 15th minute and netted a stoppage goal in the closing seconds. The 5’4” forward plays point, is agile, & tries to get lost inside the box. Our girls will have to continue to improve communication on the backline to shut this poacher out.
THEIR KEEPER: A Euskadi comes to Cascadia via Catalonia & the Rockies. While Rush netminder Elixabete “Eli” Sarasola (@sarasola22) was born in Basque Country, she spent the last three seasons with a club some call Blaugrana. Not ringing a bell? How about: FC Barcelona. Though their Women’s side isn’t quite so world-renowned, the quality expected of anyone who wears that patch is very real. Eli and the Barca Women stepped up to the challenge last season by winning their first ever La Liga title. The Barca Women won La Liga again this season, but without the help of their tenured keeper who made her way across the Atlantic to South Carolina where she split time in front of the net at the College of Charleston. She only surrendered 14 goals in nearly a thousand minutes of work this year which is a fantastic 1.3 goals against average in the D-1 Southern Conference. She took the Cougars to the SoCon Semifinal where they dropped a hard-fought affair 1:2 to Fuhrman.
BLUE BLOODS: The Rush Women have their own Supporters Group, called the Rush Blue Bloods. They are a passionate & fun bunch that certainly brought a bit of life & competition to our small travelling group at Valor Christian HS last summer. They are the most vocal supporter group outside of the Puget Sound in the W-League. Though it is highly ironic that they used an old ECS Aux, Bradley Kataoka, as their mascot? Or, is Brad merely Rush in disguise… Either way, I am going to have to get Brad a Blue Bloods T-Shirt during our visit to the Denver suburb in June.
RUSH SOUNDERS: Notable Rush coaching staff who starred for the Sounders organization include Jake Sagare, Ben Somoza, & Kevin Sakuda. Of note, considering the double-header Friday, Sounders U-23 Assistant Coach Fawzi Belal coaches for the bad guys on the side. Thankfully though, legendary Roger Levesque stepped out of the club this year.
Just as we refused last year, again we must NOT allow this international corporation to succeed on our pitch. Occupy Starfire Movement begins Friday evening! Bring your passion, intensity, sound, & color on the 31st …then stick around for the U23 derby against Crossfire.
NEVER SURRENDER OUR SPIRIT!
