REMINDER: All tickets are valid in the Jet City End, if you want to join in the fun, COME ON OVER!!! We’ll teach you the songs & may even let you bang on the drum.  Seriously, there has to be a better drummer than Bonnell out there somewhere!

WE LOST A FRIEND.  Tragedy hit the Sounders Faithful this week.  Long-time Sounders supporter Richard Swanson was hit by a car and passed away along the 101 in Oregon on Tuesday.  Richard, known in the Sounders Community for taking random long walks, was just two weeks into an epic walk.  He was walking to Brazil, from Seattle ...all the while kicking a One World Futbol. THEIR KEEPERS: 

Playing a make-shift Whitecap side presents several challenges: Who will they travel?  What formation and style will they play? These things are Hubey's problems to overcome.  But the big question for us is: Who will we be harrassing in goal?

A released roster included both 18 year old Julia "Jules" McDonald, who is a new face to us Sounders, and retired Canadian National Teamer Taryn Swiatek (@tarynswiatek), which came as quite the shock.  If the 31 year old makes the trip, she would be the girl in goal & it will be quite a treat; she dominated the goal mouth with the Ottawa Fury  for over half a decade and led them to two W-League Championship appearances. She represented the Canadians in two World Cups (2003 & 2007). ...But, Taryn has been out of the lime-light for nearly five years. ..oh, the intrigue!  So many questions for the talented keeper.  #whereyabeen?

Not too confident in the released roster, we must look at the Whitecaps Girls' Elite roster, the only complete Whitecaps team remaining as Vancouver waits for the dust to settle in the great Women's Soccer Shift of aught'13.  That roster includes: "Jules" McDonald (see above), 17 year old Rebecca Defer of North Vancouver and Priya Sandhu of Surrey.  Watch Rebecca run through GK drills on YouTube HERE.  Priya anchored the Girls' side while the team went undefeated at the College Cup in Texas.  Our Erin McNulty may have seen her play a match or two in between her Championship Weekend appearances.  Interesting note about Priya, she is a huge "Directioner" (fan of the boy band 1Direction) and has a YouTube video of herself and some friends/cousins "falling down the stairs" (Priya is the girl in the back).
